Garlic shrimp made in the BRUNO Compact Glass Air Fryer

Juicy, garlicky and finished with butter and a squeeze of lemon — this Hawaiian-style garlic shrimp comes together in the BRUNO Compact Glass Air Fryer. Its dedicated Shrimp setting cooks the prawns evenly with almost no oil, so you get a fragrant, restaurant-style plate at home in minutes.

Ingredients

  • 8 large banana prawns, shell on (180g)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • ½ tbsp minced garlic
  • 2 pinches of salt
  • 10g salted butter (to finish)
  • Garlic powder, to taste
  • Coarsely ground black pepper, to taste
  • Chopped parsley, to garnish
  • Lemon wedges, to serve

Method

  1. Rinse the prawns and pat dry. Using kitchen scissors, cut along the back from the head to just before the tail, then lift out the dark vein with a toothpick.
  2. In a bowl, mix the olive oil, minced garlic and salt. Add the prawns and marinate for about 10 minutes.
  3. Arrange the marinated prawns in the glass air fryer basket and set it in the unit.
  4. Select the Shrimp menu (200°C / 11 minutes) and press start.
  5. When the cycle finishes, lift out the basket and transfer the prawns to a bowl using tongs.
  6. Add the butter, garlic powder and black pepper, and toss to coat.
  7. Plate up, scatter with chopped parsley and squeeze over fresh lemon to serve.

Tip: Using frozen peeled prawns? Thaw them in lightly salted water (1 tsp salt per 200ml), pat dry, then check a little earlier — they cook faster than shell-on prawns.
