Juicy, garlicky and finished with butter and a squeeze of lemon — this Hawaiian-style garlic shrimp comes together in the BRUNO Compact Glass Air Fryer. Its dedicated Shrimp setting cooks the prawns evenly with almost no oil, so you get a fragrant, restaurant-style plate at home in minutes.
Ingredients
- 8 large banana prawns, shell on (180g)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- ½ tbsp minced garlic
- 2 pinches of salt
- 10g salted butter (to finish)
- Garlic powder, to taste
- Coarsely ground black pepper, to taste
- Chopped parsley, to garnish
- Lemon wedges, to serve
Method
- Rinse the prawns and pat dry. Using kitchen scissors, cut along the back from the head to just before the tail, then lift out the dark vein with a toothpick.
- In a bowl, mix the olive oil, minced garlic and salt. Add the prawns and marinate for about 10 minutes.
- Arrange the marinated prawns in the glass air fryer basket and set it in the unit.
- Select the Shrimp menu (200°C / 11 minutes) and press start.
- When the cycle finishes, lift out the basket and transfer the prawns to a bowl using tongs.
- Add the butter, garlic powder and black pepper, and toss to coat.
- Plate up, scatter with chopped parsley and squeeze over fresh lemon to serve.
Tip: Using frozen peeled prawns? Thaw them in lightly salted water (1 tsp salt per 200ml), pat dry, then check a little earlier — they cook faster than shell-on prawns.
