Choosing Your OutIn Setup

OutIn makes one thing exceptionally well — coffee gear that runs on its own battery, so it works in a car, a tent or a hotel room as easily as on a kitchen worktop. The range splits into three parts: the Nano espresso machine, the Fino grinder, and the accessories that connect them.

The Nano — a portable espresso machine that heats its own water

Most travel espresso makers are hand pumps: you supply boiling water, they supply the pressure. The OutIn Nano is different — a 7500 mAh battery drives a heating blade that takes 50 ml of cold water from room temperature to 92°C in about three minutes, then extracts at 20 bar. No kettle, no flask.

  • Weight and size — 0.7 kg, 70 × 70 × 230 mm. About a loaf of bread, and it stands up in a rucksack pocket.
  • Per charge — roughly 5 cups from cold water, or 100+ if you pour in hot water and skip the heating stage.
  • Ground coffee or capsules — both. The capsule adapter, ground-coffee filter basket and dosing spoon are all in the box.
  • Charging — USB-C. Any charger over 10 W will do, as will a 12 V or 24 V car socket, so there is no voltage or plug question to worry about.

Four colours: Outin Teal, Pearl White, Space Grey and Forest Green. There is also a Nano bundled with its protective case if you already know you will be carrying it.

The Fino — do you need the grinder too?

Only if you brew with ground coffee rather than capsules. Espresso is the grind size least forgiving of a bad burr, and pre-ground coffee starts losing aroma within minutes of opening the bag — which rather defeats the point of carrying a machine that makes fresh espresso on a hillside.

The Fino OTCG-01 is a 690 g battery grinder with a 7-core conical burr and 28 grind settings, covering espresso through pour-over to French press. Its adjustment system is calibration-free, so changing setting is one turn rather than a stripdown, and the bean hopper retracts into the body for packing. Bean capacity is 25 g — enough for two doubles.

Accessories worth knowing about

  • Nano Basket Plus — a deeper 16–18 g stainless basket for a proper double shot, rather than the single the standard basket is sized for.
  • Protective case — moulded EVA with a felt lining and an integrated capsule box.
  • Universal coffee stand — adjusts from 119.5 mm to 178.5 mm with silicone pads top and bottom, so the Nano can brew straight into a travel mug instead of the supplied cup.
  • Adapters kit — a replacement set of capsule adapter, filter basket and spoon. You do not need this with a new machine; the originals are included.

Buying OutIn in the UK

Every OutIn we sell is 100% genuine and brand-new, shipped from the UK with UK customer support and covered by our HappyCare guarantee. Because the Nano and the Fino both run on their own batteries and charge over USB-C, there is no transformer, adapter or voltage conversion involved — they work anywhere.

Yes. We stock the OutIn range in the UK and ship from a UK warehouse, so there are no import charges or customs delays to deal with. Every unit is 100% genuine and brand-new, and comes with our HappyCare guarantee and UK-based customer support.

It heats its own water. Most travel espresso makers are hand pumps that need you to supply boiling water; the OutIn Nano has a 7500 mAh battery and a heating blade that brings 50 ml of cold water to 92°C in about three minutes, then extracts at 20 bar. That means you only need to carry the machine, the coffee and cold water.

Yes. The Nano is a 2-in-1 machine that takes both ground coffee and capsules compatible with Nespresso® Original. The capsule adapter, the ground-coffee filter basket and the dosing spoon are all supplied in the box, so you can switch between the two whenever you like.

About five when starting from cold water, because heating is what consumes the battery. If you pour in water that is already hot, the same charge will pull well over 100 shots. Charging is over USB-C from any charger above 10 W, or from a 12 V or 24 V car socket.

Only if you brew with ground coffee rather than capsules. Espresso is the grind size least tolerant of an inconsistent burr, and ground coffee loses its aroma quickly once the bag is open. The Fino OTCG-01 is a 690 g battery grinder with a 7-core conical burr and 28 calibration-free grind settings, covering espresso through pour-over to French press.

Yes. Every OutIn product is covered by our HappyCare guarantee, with UK-based aftercare and genuine replacement parts — including the adapters kit and Basket Plus — available directly from us.
