How to Choose a Tiger Rice Cooker

Choosing a Tiger? Here's how to narrow it down in three steps.

1. By heating technology

  • Micom (Fuzzy Logic) — Tiger's JBV / JAX micom models give reliable, affordable everyday rice.
  • IH & Pressure IH — The JKT / JPK ranges heat the whole pan (and add pressure on pressure models) for more even cooking and better brown and mixed rice.

2. By capacity (uncooked rice cups; 1 cup ≈ 150g)

  • 0.5L / ~3 cups — Ideal for 1–2 people and smaller kitchens.
  • 1.0L / ~5.5 cups — The everyday family size, and our most popular.
  • 1.8L / ~10 cups — Large families and batch cooking.

3. What makes Tiger special

  • Signature tacook function — cook a dish and your rice at the same time, in the same machine, without the flavours mixing.
  • Durable ceramic-coated inner pans for even, long-lasting performance.
  • One of the most versatile line-ups, from simple micom to advanced pressure IH.

Ready for the UK. Every model is genuine 220–240V with a UK 3-pin plug — no transformer, no adapter. Want the full breakdown? Read our complete Japanese rice cooker buying guide.

Yes. Every Tiger we sell is genuine 220–240V with a fitted UK 3-pin plug — ready to use straight out of the box, with no transformer or adapter needed.

tacook is Tiger's synchronised cooking system: a dedicated upper plate lets you steam or cook a dish — eggs, fish, vegetables — at the same time as the rice cooking below, without the flavours mixing.

For 1–2 people, a 0.5L (~3-cup) model is perfect. For most families, a 1.0L (~5.5-cup) is the sweet spot. For large households or batch cooking, choose a 1.8L (~10-cup).

Yes — 100% genuine Tiger, supplied in UK-ready 220–240V specification.

Micom (JBV / JAX) uses a microcomputer for great-value, reliable rice. IH (JKT) heats the whole pan for more even texture. Pressure IH (JPK) adds pressure for the springiest grains and the best brown and mixed rice.
