Buttery toasted buns, a juicy frank and classic toppings — these ballpark hot dogs get their golden, crisp buns from the BALMUDA The Toaster Pastry Mode. A simple, nostalgic favourite you can make at home for two.
Ingredients
- 2 hot dogs
- 2 hot dog buns
- ¼ onion
- Pickles, as desired
- 12g salted butter
- Ketchup, as desired
- Mustard, as desired
Method
- Finely chop the onion, soak in water for about 15 minutes, then drain well.
- Split the buns lengthwise and spread butter inside.
- Place a hot dog in each bun, set in the toaster and cook for 6 minutes on Pastry Mode.
- Once out of the toaster, top with onion, pickles, ketchup and mustard.
Tip: Soaking the chopped onion mellows its sharpness, leaving just a fresh, crisp bite.
