Description
TOSHIBA 3D Induction Heating Rice Cooker | RC-DR Series
Japanese-built IH without the pressure system — and without the price.
The RC-DR is the straightforward Japanese-made IH cooker in Toshiba's range: induction heating from three directions, a 5 mm diamond-and-copper pot and a binchotan inner frame that surrounds the pot to hold heat, but no vacuum pump and no pressure system. If you cook mostly white rice and want a Japanese-built machine without paying for vacuum technology, this is the one.
Every key is labelled in English. The control panel carries English wording alongside the Chinese — KEEP WARM, TIMER, MENU, START, OFF/CANCEL — and the menu names on the display read in English too. A full English owner’s manual is supplied.
Product Features:
- 3D induction heating: the coil heats the pot from the sides as well as beneath.

Cleaning and Maintenance:
- Wash the inner pot, inner lid and steam vent after every use; they are all removable.
- Wipe the outer body and control panel with a soft, damp cloth — never an abrasive pad.
- Do not use metal utensils, whisks or scouring brushes inside the pot: the non-stick coating is what keeps rice from catching.
- Never place the inner pot on a hob or in a microwave.
- Leave the lid open for a while after cooking so the cavity dries out.
The vacuum pump and the pressure system. The RC-DR still uses induction heating and a 5 mm diamond-and-copper pot, so everyday white rice is excellent; what you lose is vacuum soaking, pressure cooking and the 40-hour vacuum keep warm.
A frame of binchotan charcoal composite that sits around the inner pot and radiates far-infrared heat back at it, which helps the pot hold an even temperature during the boil.
It is labelled in both, with English on every key and English menu names on the display. The START and OFF keys also carry raised markings for visually impaired users. A full English owner’s manual is supplied.
The 1.0L cooks up to 5.5 cups and suits one to six people; the 1.8L takes up to 10 cups. Both sizes are offered in white or red, so the colour choice is independent of the size.
Yes. It is rated 220V~ 50–60Hz, which the UK 230V/50Hz supply meets. No transformer is required.

5mm Diamond, Titanium and Copper Inner Pot
Diamond and titanium coating inside, copper outside, paired with a binchotan far-infrared inner frame around the pot and a 60° rounded base for better heat transfer.

Wave Design at the Bottom of the Inner Pot
The waved base increases air bubbles and creates heat convection, producing the ‘crab hole’ finish prized in Japan — sweet and chewy.

IH — Heated Evenly
3D induction heating warms the pot from the sides as well as beneath, so the rice is heated evenly.

Multi-function Cooking Menus
3 menus for different rice types, 7 rice cooking menus and 3 special menus — enough range for cake baking and soup making.
