Description

TOSHIBA Mini IH Rice Cooker | RC-DZ4K (0.45L)

A 2.5-cup Japanese IH cooker with a wing-shaped pot, for one to three people.

Small rice cookers are usually where quality is sacrificed. The RC-DZ4K is the exception: a genuine Japanese-built induction cooker scaled down to 0.45 L — 2.5 cups, enough for one to three people — with a 5 mm binchotan pot shaped with raised wings that force the boil back over the rice, imitating the way a traditional pot cooks.

Every key is labelled in English. The control panel carries English wording alongside the Chinese — KEEP WARM, TIMER, MENU, START, OFF/CANCEL — and the menu names on the display read in English too. A full English owner’s manual is supplied.

Product Features:

  • 0.45L / 2.5 cups: sized for one to three people, and only 22 cm wide.
  • Induction heating in a cooker this size — unusual at any price.
  • 5 mm binchotan pot with diamond and titanium coating inside, copper outside.
  • Wing-shaped pot that concentrates the boil back onto the rice.
  • 3 rice type menus (white, pre-washed, grains) and 7 cooking menus including quick and congee.
  • Rice texture selection — regular, delicious, hard or sticky.
  • 4.1 kg — the lightest cooker in the range.
  • Made in Japan.

Product Care

Cleaning and Maintenance:

  • Wash the inner pot, inner lid and steam vent after every use; they are all removable.
  • Wipe the outer body and control panel with a soft, damp cloth — never an abrasive pad.
  • Do not use metal utensils, whisks or scouring brushes inside the pot: the non-stick coating is what keeps rice from catching.
  • Never place the inner pot on a hob or in a microwave.
  • Leave the lid open for a while after cooking so the cavity dries out.
FAQ
Is 0.45L enough?

It cooks up to 2.5 cups of uncooked rice, which is roughly three generous portions. Rice cookers give their best results between a third and two thirds full, so for one or two people every day this size will outperform a larger machine running near empty.

Why does a small cooker cost more than some big ones?

Because it is a Japanese-built induction machine, not a scaled-down basic model. Almost every other cooker at this capacity uses a simple heating plate; the RC-DZ4K uses the same induction technology as Toshiba’s full-size range.

What is the wing pot?

The inner pot has raised sections around its wall that redirect the boiling water back over the rice instead of letting it climb the sides, which concentrates the heat the way a traditional Japanese pot does.

Is the panel in Chinese?

It is labelled in both, with English on every key and English menu names on the display. A full English owner’s manual is supplied.

Will it work on UK mains?

Yes. It is rated 220V~ 50–60Hz, which the UK 230V/50Hz supply meets. No transformer is required.

Wave Design at the Bottom of the Inner Pot

The waved base increases air bubbles and heat convection, producing the ‘crab hole’ finish prized in Japan — sweet and fluffy.

Unique Wing Pot Design

A high curved pot wall keeps the boil going at the top while a flat copper seal along the side retains heat, recreating the way a traditional stove-top pot cooks.

Binchotan Far-Infrared, 360° Induction Heating

Binchotan far-infrared radiates heat back at the pot continuously while induction heats it from all around.
